For this month’s newsletter, we decided to share a few exciting updates.
One year ago, in June of 2023, we were operating out of a small apartment two days a week. We were open to any families with severely malnourished infants, whether the mother was still alive or not. We focused on breastfeeding support with formula supplementation when necessary. We had about 45 clients coming weekly and we received 1 or 2 new infants per week. We came alongside them for 4-6 months and released them from our weekly care when they were no longer severe cases of malnutrition.
A year later, today, all of those things are still true except that we have 124 clients coming weekly and up to 10 new infants per week. Still the same apartment, with the same incredible staff, and same sustainable nutrition focus. But more than double the clients, and growing fast. If we want to continue in this growth, we need to make up the difference in space, infrastructure, supplies, and staff. Here are a few ways you can help us do that. -
Make a donation on our website, or you can share our work with your circle of friends, family, church, etc. so that someone else may choose to do so.
-
Attend one of our Gala events! They are currently scheduled for Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Austin, TX in September. Details found at our website Carrythem.org.
-
Reach out to us if you’d like us to come share at your church, business, or gathering. We love to share with others about what God is doing in the lives of these families here in Nigeria.
-
Stay engaged! Follow the work on social media, pray for our clients, and keep up with the growth. Thank you!

Tangible Donation Opportunity |
Another exciting development is that we are shipping a container filled with supplies from the U.S. to Nigeria in October. This is a great opportunity to donate items! Please visit our website for information.

For our 119 current clients, we estimate our costs are $9,520 monthly. We currently have $6,870 in monthly support. Would you consider coming alongside us with a recurring donation so that we may be sustainably funded? |
Our Clinic Expansion Efforts |
We are fundraising for a property of our own. We currently rent a small one-bedroom apartment where we operate our clinic. We hope to buy a space we can develop to not only serve our current clients, but to accommodate the growing number of severely malnourished infants that are finding their way to us. We estimate we will need $170,000 to buy the land and roughly $175,000 to develop that space. We have raised $93,036 so far. Help us build this ministry a permanent home.

Did you know 1 in 12 Nigerian infants won’t survive the first month of life? And that if they do, 1 of 5 of them will not survive to their 5th birthday? There are many factors that contribute to that tragic reality, but starvation and malnutrition are among the main causes. We believe God has equipped us to come alongside these communities and families with sustainable, life-saving, nutritional support.
Just a few years ago we began with just one severely malnourished infant and her mother. Since 2021, we have had over 600 infants and their families through our doors. We offer lactation support, supplemental nutritional support, educational support, and emergency medical support. We ensure each child leaves our care healthier and more hopeful than when they entered. |
As a team, we believe it is a great privilege of our lifetime to know and love and serve these beautiful babies and their families. Truly, however, we could not support them if you weren’t supporting us. Thank you for your care, concern, and partnership in this work. God is with us! |
